Practicality and visibility
The Audi Q2 has been reviewed as a comfortable and practical SUV for everyday use and for instructors. It offers excellent visibility from the front and rear side windows, however, it may be difficult for the driver to see the rear window if tall passengers are seated at the back due to the curvature of the doors. The passenger seat provides a clear view of the cockpit, so there is no need for an extra speedometer.
In terms of performance and comfort, the Q2 is a cut above the rest. Unlike other small SUVs, the Q2’s body sits high enough that passengers simply slide into the seats, giving them the feeling of sitting a bit higher. The all-around vision from the driver’s chair and passenger seat is good and there is nothing to obstruct the view, making it easy to park and manoeuvre. Performance and comfort
The Q2’s 35 TFSI provides a smoother drive than the 30 TFSI, which can sound a bit thrummy when worked hard. At motorway speeds, the Q2 is relatively quiet with little wind noise entering the car, making it perfect for long journeys. However, there is a little road noise on models with larger alloy wheels. All models of the Q2 are front-wheel drive.
The Q2 we test drove was an automatic, but according to other reviews, the manual gearbox is lightweight and slick. The brake pedal is well-weighted, resulting in smooth braking, and the steering wheel is nicely weighted too.
We took the Q2 for a drive down Kilby country roads, and its firm suspension was not upset by the bumps in the road. It felt lively and fun as we turned it into and drove through bends. There was more than enough grip from the Q2 to feel safe and secure on the back roads.
The Q2 offers a good amount of legroom in the front and back seats. There is a decent amount of room for two adults in the back, as long as there isn’t anyone tall sitting in the front. The shoulder room is a bit cramped by the doors, which might be a hassle when trying to fit car seats. It would be a tight squeeze for three adults in the back, as the middle seat is raised, creating very little head and legroom.
Engine
Audi’s Q2 is a popular choice among car enthusiasts. The Q2 35 TFSI model has a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine that generates 150 horsepower. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 8.6 seconds. Depending on the model you choose, the car can achieve a fuel economy of 44.8-46.3 mpg.
Boot
Although the Q2 has a smaller size compared to other SUVs, it still offers a decent amount of load space.
