  1. Toyota Yaris

Our customer favourite, the Toyota Yaris tops our list as the best driving instructor car. It’s the vehicle of choice for may driving instructors, its easy to see why. Many instructors have commented on its amazing fuel economy and its quiet engine. “For learners the Toyota Yaris is brilliant on roundabouts and hesitation as this car is a little nippy so it just gets gone as soon as you put your foot on the gas” said one of our customers. She also commented “It’s smooth and you don’t feel any change in gear like you do in some autos”, if you are looking for a smooth nippy automatic car with great fuel economy then this is the car for you.

  1. Ford Fiesta

Secondly is the Ford Fiesta, a classic. The Ford Fiest is one of many drivers first car and a very popular instructor vehicle. One instructor commented  “It is a great size for pupils and generally has a lower clutch biting point with sensible speeds for gear selection”, another instructor described it as the “best car by a mile”. Its highly rated for responsiveness and value for money, the Fiesta is a little smaller than the Focus but is still roomy enough to be comfortable.

CH-R.jpg

  1. Toyota CHR

Thirdly is the Toyota CH-R, it has been described as comfortable suspension. It has plenty of grip when going round tight corners and has sharp steering making the road handling very impressive, due to its comfortable suspension it is great to drive for long periods of time which is why

Puma.jpg

  1. Ford Puma

The Ford Puma is another popular instructor vehicle, it has been described as “sturdy, a smooth drive, good 360° visibility, fairly well equipped, comfortable and is giving good fuel mileage, at 16mph average speed 42mpg” by one of our customers making it one of our customer favorites. One instructor commented saying “it’s a brilliant car, my customers love it”, a lot of learners prefer a ford due to their generally lower biting point making it a lot easier to find and get used to.

Yaris cross.jpg

  1. Toyota Yaris Cross

The Toyota Yaris Cross has been rated highly for its fuel efficiency and comfort, customers have mentioned the “great visibility” throughout the vehicle as well. The improvement in aesthetics has been achieved without denting Toyota’s legendary reliability ratings which ensure that the Yaris may well turn out to be the cheaper option over the longer term. It’s also not that much more expensive to repair or service than other car brands options.

208.jpg

  1. Peugeot 208

The Peugeot 208 has been described as enjoyable and comfortable to drive, it is one of the top ‘smaller’ vehicle recommendations for driving instructors. The dashing Peugeot 208 will certainly be popular with students who want to look good while they learn to drive (at least in terms of the style-appeal of the car they’re in…). Its small steering wheel and light control weights make it feel very nippy and agile in tight spots.

Kona.jpg

  1. Hyundai Kona

Hyundai Kona EV has had high recommendations from customers, one saying “It has lots of interesting features, good for students to learn with and, even on a long day, I come home with over 50% on charge”. Another said “I pay £0 road tax…. Oh and it’s over 200hp and I’ve managed 0-60 in under 7 seconds so it’s no slouch at a roundabout”, the EV cars do have their perks with £0 road tax helping keeping costs down.

A1.jpg

  1. Audi A1

Audi A1 is a very well known car in the motor industry, the refinement is top notch and you’re well insulated from wind and road noise, even at higher speeds.

corsa.jpg

  1. Vauxhall Corsa

The Vauxhall Corsa has always been a favourite amongst driving instructors, and for good reason. They’re exceptionally easy to drive, offer decent fuel economy, and aren’t too expensive to buy. As with the Peugeot 208, the Vauxhall Corsa is also available as a pure-electric car, with a range of up to 222 miles. With smooth and effortless electric performance, the Corsa-e is even easier to drive than the petrol model.

seat ibiza.jpg

  1. Seat Ibiza

Seat Ibiza is quite popular in the instructor community due to its affordability, instructors also tend to favour the Ibiza for the way it drives. They are also a reliable car which is important when being driven for long periods of time every day. Learners tend to prefer the smaller hatchback vehicles when learning as they are easier to manoeuvre.

golf.jpg

  1. VW Golf

The VW Golf is very similar to the VW polo, especially now they have given the polo a facelift. The Golf is definitely more powerful than the polo with the entry level engine starting at a 2.0 TDI 115 engine, VW are an overall reliable car manufacturer that report to have very little issues and when they do they are usually on the cheaper side to fix compared to Audi, Mercedes and BMW. The light steering is great for learners around towns and tight corners, the golf can do everything a polo can but better and quicker.

polo.jpg

  1. VW Polo

The VW polo is a fantastic little car. It is defiantly a first car favourite as visibility is good front and rear, the steering, clutch and gearshift weights are all nice and lightweight, and it’s comfortable on rough stretches of road too. It has a 351-litre boot which is generous for a car this small, and there’s a decent amount of rear-seat passenger space.
