Hyundai Tucson Estate

Hyundai Tucson: A Luxury SUV with Impressive Features Hyundai has always been known for delivering high-quality, reliable vehicles, and the Tucson is no exception.

Interior

This SUV boasts a mix of materials that give the interior a high-end luxury feel, making it a standout in its class. One of the first things you’ll notice when you step inside the Tucson is the 10.25-inch driver digital dash screen. This display is clear and easy to read, even from the passenger seat, making it ideal for driving instructors. In the centre of the dash, you’ll find another 10.25-inch screen for the infotainment system. The heating and ventilation controls are incorporated into the same panel, making the touchscreen display appear even bigger than it actually is. Hyundai knows that simplicity is key when it comes to infotainment systems, and the Tucson’s screen is straightforward and easy to use. The menus are arranged in a logical order, and the screen is quick to respond to a tap from your finger. You can easily connect your phone to the Hyundai’s infotainment system, as it’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Practicality and comfort

Finding the perfect driving position in the Tucson is straightforward, as all models have height adjustments for the driver’s seat. In the top-spec, this is done electrically, and all but the base SE Connect comes with heated seats for those in the front. There are two USB ports and a 12-volt charging point, ensuring that your devices are always charged and ready to go. In terms of storage, the Tucson has you covered. There are two large cupholders in the centre console, along with a big tray where you can keep your phone. Behind the gear stick, there’s a large storage bin with a lid that doubles as an armrest. Netted pockets and adequate door bins cover off storage, and cupholders in the fold-down armrest.

Access to the back seats of the Tucson is good, making it easy to fit car seats or large objects. The interior is very spacious, although three adults may find their shoulder room snug. The centre seat has a slightly raised base, but there’s still ample headroom and plenty of space for feet.

Performance and visibility

visibility

Tucson provides that all-important raised driving position that so many people love about SUVs. It gives a good all-rounder view, and the large wing mirrors help give the driver a clear picture of what’s behind. In every Tucson, there are rear parking sensors and a reversing camera, making it effortless to back into narrow multi-story bays.

performance

The light steering makes manoeuvring and turning in tight circles a breeze. On motorways, the Hyundai Tucson is very smooth out on fast roads, giving the car excellent composure. When the Tucson meets big dips or ridges, it is unfazed and gets on with the job of getting to the destination with minimal fuss. The different engine performances on the motorway are satisfactory, pulling smoothly and getting the vehicle up to the national speed limit with ease. On twisty back roads, the suspension of the Tucson does a good job of preventing too much body roll.

boot

Finally, the size of the Tucson’s boot depends on which engine you choose. With the 150hp 1.6-litre motor, you get a whopping 620 litres of space. It’s the same story with the 40-20-40 split and tip rear seats folded down, offering as much as 1,799 litres in the 150hp model. Folding the seats is very easy thanks to levers in the boot’s side walls, and the floor is almost flat with the rear chairs lowered. Overall, the Hyundai Tucson is a luxury SUV with impressive features that make it a top contender in its class. With its spacious interior, advanced infotainment system, and smooth ride, it’s no wonder that the Tucson is a popular choice among drivers.
