All XC-30 models come with a 7.0-inch main dash display in addition to the large round speed dial. The digital display can be switched between functions and used to read traffic signs, speed limits, and the radar cruise control, which is included with all CX-30s.
One important feature of the digital dash for driving instructors is that the maximum speed limit is indicated by a red line on the speedometer, alerting the driver to the speed limit if there are no signs around.
Inside
Inside the Mazda CX30, the supportive seats are a major advantage of the vehicle. They provide ample leg room, making them perfect for long drives, and there is also generous head room for taller individuals.
The wide range of adjustments, combined with the steering wheel, makes it very easy to find a comfortable driving position. Even in the bottom spec 'Exclusive-line' model, the vehicle has a luxurious feel. Mazda has opted for traditional switches and knobs for the heating and stereo controls, allowing users to operate them by feel once they have familiarized themselves with their location.
The vehicle features a wireless charging port under the heating controls, as well as a large storage bin located in the middle of the cockpit.
Practicality and comfort
The Mazda CX30 has a lower-slung driver’s seat, making it easy to get in and out through a wide door aperture. With the exception of the entry-level Prime-Line, all CX-30 trims come with heated front seats that quickly warm up, providing comfort during winter starts.
The back seats offer enough room for three adults, although it’s not as spacious as the front. While there is sufficient headspace for adults, the roof slopes in at the sides due to the CX-30’s styling.
The boot space is reasonably sized at 430 liters with the rear seats in place. Unlike the CX-5, the CX-30 lacks remote release levers to fold its rear seats, but they can tumble to create a large load volume of up to 1,406 liters.
Performance and visibility
The CX-30 comes equipped with rear parking sensors, making it effortless to navigate small parking spaces. Additionally, it features a high-resolution reversing camera.
Our sales team has praised the CX-30 for its comfort and smoothness, particularly in town driving. They have also noted its easy maneuverability, especially around tight corners.
On the motorway, the Mazda CX-30 feels stable in side winds and offers confident steering. The firm ride experienced in town and on the motorway becomes advantageous on twisty country roads, keeping body lean in check. The CX-30 also boasts excellent steering and, with all-wheel drive versions, it performs well on cold and wet roads.
Visibility is not an issue with the CX-30, as it provides good forward visibility and visibility at junctions, despite having fairly thick front pillars. All versions come with LED headlights with automatic high beam, while Exclusive-Line trim and above feature adaptive LED headlights that prevent dazzling other drivers.
