The new 2024 Renault Clio has been given a revamp from the inside out and we love it!

Interior

The interior of the vehicle has been given a facelift and it looks just as sleek and stylish as the exterior. The air vents have been integrated neatly into the dashboard and the knobs and dials for controlling the air conditioning have a premium metal effect, giving the car a classy and upmarket feel. The soft plastic trims on the dashboard, doors, and centre console add to the premium look and feel of the car. All models come with a 7-inch digital driver display and upgrade to a 10-inch digital driver display with the top-spec Esprit Alpine.

Practicality and comfort

The front space of the driver’s cabin is quite generous with plenty of head and legroom for both driver and passenger. There’s also plenty of storage space in the car including a big glovebox, decent-sized door bins, storage in the central armrest, and a deep tray in front of the gear stick. The rear space in the Clio is fair, there is room for passengers to place their feet under the front seats, even on the lowest level. The Clio’s cabin is not as wide as the Volkswagen polo but there Is enough room for two adults, three adults in the back at once may struggle a bit. Storage in the back is similar to other small cars with decent-sized door bins on either side.

The boot space of the Clio is impressive and ranges from 301-391 litres depending on whether you choose the hybrid or petrol version. The car has more boot storage than most other small cars and the high bumper and lip into the boot means items sit securely.

Performance and visibility

The Clio’s performance is adequate for dashing around town with a 0-62mph acceleration time of 12.3 seconds. It’s perfect for driving around town and nipping in and out of traffic or junctions. The light steering and good visibility at junctions make it easy to handle. Cruise control comes as standard in all models, making it great for long haul drives. The firm suspension makes the car feel sportier than most hatchbacks on twisty country roads and there’s plenty of grip. The brake pedal response is sensitive but easy to get used to and there’s little suspension noise on bumps in the road.

The Clio’s visibility is quite good with front pillars not impeding the driver’s view at roundabouts or junctions. Over the shoulder view isn’t too impaired by the pillars or the slanted windows. However, the narrow rear windscreen does impede the rear view. Thankfully, all models come with rear parking sensors as standard. The speedometer is also visible from both the driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat, meaning it’s not necessary for an extra one.

Overall, We was quite impressed with the new Renault Clio. It looks sleek and stylish, has a premium feel on the inside, and is practical and comfortable to drive.
