In towns the Yaris Cross has high-rise seats, making it ideal for city driving. It gives the driver and passengers a better view of the road as they are positioned a little higher up yet is still compact enough to fit parking spaces.

The vehicle is fitted with autonomous emergency braking which will detect pedestrians and cyclists in its path and if the driver fails to break the car will break for itself to prevent any collision, this autonomous emergency breaking will only activate at urban speeds and will notify the driver to give them a change to break before it kicks in.

The Yaris cross is a comfortable ride as well as quiet around towns which is quite unusual for a four-wheel drive, the acceleration is quick and smooth many drivers describe it as a ‘great all-rounder’. On motorways, you can hear a little noise in the cabin but is relatively quiet and handles itself very well on bendy roads, the comfortable seats make journeys more enjoyable whether they are tips to the shops or long-haul journeys.

Engine

The Toyota Yaris Cross is equipped with a 1.5 Litre self-charging hybrid engine. This engine is known for its quick acceleration, thanks to its electrical assistance.
